Bank of Thailand to require source of large cash deposits
Starting in the fourth quarter, customers depositing more than 5 million baht in cash must disclose the source of funds. Separately, from August, households will pay 3 baht per unit for the first 200 units of electricity, down from 3.95 baht. The government also plans tourism stimulus projects worth 2.45 billion baht.
