Thailand to require source of funds for large cash deposits from Q4
From the fourth quarter of 2026, anyone depositing more than 5 million baht in cash at a Thai bank must disclose the source of funds to curb illicit activities. Additionally, from August 2026, households will pay just 3 baht per unit for the first 200 units of electricity per month, a reduction from the regular 3.95 baht, lowering living costs for residents including expats.
