Linked databases to block tax discs for unpaid traffic fines
From August 1, the Department of Land Transport and Royal Thai Police will link databases to enforce unpaid traffic fines. Motorists with outstanding fines from tickets issued after that date can still renew annual vehicle tax but will not receive the tax disc until fines are paid. The measure does not apply retroactively to older tickets.
