Bank of Thailand caps minors' digital transfers to fight fraud
The Bank of Thailand has introduced daily transfer limits for digital accounts held by minors to combat the use of 'mule accounts' by fraudsters. From September 2026, bank accounts for ages 12-18 will have limits of 5,000 or 10,000 baht per day, and from October 2026, e-money accounts for ages 10-12 will be capped at 3,000 baht per day. Banks and e-money providers must notify customers and offer channels to request higher limits.
