Phuket nominee firms face financial investigation
The Interior Ministry has ordered a financial trail investigation into over 100 Phuket companies suspected of being linked to foreign nominee networks, with combined revenue estimated at more than 5 billion baht. Authorities have also identified 1,752 Phuket companies with foreign shareholders and 4,041 high-risk entities nationwide. The probe will examine how some individuals obtained Thai citizenship and may expand to other tourist destinations.
