Thailand amends law to compensate criminal suspects
A new amendment to the Compensation for Victims and Defendants in Criminal Cases Act extends compensation rights to suspects who are detained during investigation but later have charges dismissed or are found innocent. Authorities are now required to inform suspects and their heirs of these rights. The law takes effect 120 days after publication in the Royal Gazette.
