Thailand Relaxes Drone Rules for Most Areas
The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) has relaxed drone restrictions in most of the country effective 26 June 2026, but maintains prohibitions in specific border districts of seven provinces. Visitors and expats must register drones with NBTC and CAAT, obtain insurance, and submit flight plans via the UAS Portal at least three days in advance. Unauthorized flights can lead to imprisonment up to one year or fines up to 40,000 baht.
