Thai Airways cancels flights as Suvarnabhumi cargo crisis worsens

ThaiRoundup

Thai Airways cancelled domestic and international flights from October 1-3 amid a severe baggage and cargo backlog at Suvarnabhumi Airport, worsened by Bangkok flooding. The Thai Chamber of Commerce demanded an overhaul of the air cargo system, while military personnel were deployed to clear the pileup. The disruption comes just before the tourism high season and the IMF-World Bank meetings from October 12-18.

A live hazard or material disruption is in effect.
