Nakhon Phanom pier border hours extended for festival
Thailand's Interior Ministry has extended operating hours at the permanent border checkpoint at Nakhon Phanom municipal pier (Tha Ruea Thetsaban Mueang Nakhon Phanom) from the usual 08:00–18:00 to 08:00–24:00 on October 24–26, 2026, for the annual Nakhon Phanom Ilang Rai Fai festival.
What this means for you
- Any foreigner (tourist, resident, student, worker) using the Nakhon Phanom pier checkpoint to cross into Laos can now do so until midnight on October 24–26, 2026, instead of the usual 18:00 closing.
- Plan outbound and return trips accordingly for those three days; the longer hours apply only at this specific pier checkpoint.
