NHSO amends payment rules for corneal implant, TAVI
The National Health Security Office has issued a new regulation (No. 5) updating the list and payment rates for medical devices and prosthetics covered under the Universal Coverage Scheme. The changes include adding a glass tube for corneal endothelial transplant (DMEK) at 9,000 baht per unit, and two categories of TAVI (transcatheter aortic valve implantation) device sets at 280,000 and 330,000 baht per set. Most provisions take effect from October 1, 2026, with some sections effective November 1, 2026, and January 1, 2027.
