New anti-nominee rules tighten company registration

From August 1, 2026, new rules require additional documents — including a sworn investment statement and 3-month bank statements from Thai partners and the entity — when registering a company/partnership where a foreigner holds less than 50% but has signatory authority (or is a partner/director). Existing applications already filed are unaffected. All expats setting up or amending a Thai business with foreign participation must prepare these documents.
