Mekong water level tops 12m, flood risk rises in northern provinces
The Mekong River's water level exceeded 12 metres in Nakhon Phanom, passing the crisis point for the first time this year, as persistent rain raises flood risks in northern and northeastern provinces. Officials believe the city centre's floodwall can handle up to 15 metres, but farmland in three districts of Nakhon Phanom is already flooded.
