Arsenic exceeds safety levels in four northern Thai rivers
A Pollution Control Department survey found arsenic levels exceeding safety standards at multiple locations in the Kok, Sai, Ruak, and Mekong rivers in northern Thailand. Extremely harmful levels were detected at all monitored sites in the Ruak and Mekong rivers. Expats in affected areas should avoid drinking untreated water from these rivers.
