Phuket Covid cases surge but remain mild, DDC says

ThaiRoundup

Phuket has the third-highest Covid-19 incidence rate in Thailand as of August 31, but the dominant Omicron subvariant causes only mild, cold-like symptoms, according to the Department of Disease Control. Nationwide, 99,691 cases and 15 deaths were recorded from January to August. Expats should rest if sick, avoid close contact with vulnerable people, and seek medical help if symptoms worsen.
