BMTA electric bus fleet: first 500 by March 2027
Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) is rolling out 1,520 electric buses under a 14.9 billion baht lease. The first batch of 500 buses is due by the end of March 2027, with the full fleet in service by May 2027. Fares are expected to range from 15–25 baht, and the buses will replace older non-air-conditioned vehicles.
