Thailand to launch disaster insurance covering 30 million households
The government plans to launch a national disaster insurance scheme in October, covering 30 million households against floods, windstorms, and earthquakes. The state will budget about 15.5 billion baht annually for premiums, with initial payouts of 10,000 baht for flood-damaged homes and 5,000 baht for wind or earthquake damage, capped at 100,000 baht per household.
