Electricity bills to rise sharply in final four months
The Energy Regulatory Commission announced a nearly fivefold increase in the fuel tariff (Ft) from 0.16 to 0.94 baht per kilowatt-hour, driving up overall power tariffs. Four options are under public consultation until July 20, with rates ranging from 3.95 to 4.73 baht per unit. The new Ft rate will be finalized by September and take effect after August 31.
