Thailand clarifies cannabis not free, requires prescription
The Thai government has reiterated that cannabis buds are not freely available and can only be bought or sold with a valid medical prescription. Sales to the public are limited to a 30-day supply, and smoking on business premises is banned except as treatment by licensed practitioners. Illegal sale, processing, or export of cannabis buds carries penalties of up to one year in prison and fines up to 20,000 baht.
