Thailand expands compensation to suspects in criminal cases
A new law amends the Criminal Victim Compensation and Defendant Compensation Act to include 'suspects' as eligible for compensation and expenses if detained before or during investigation and later not charged or proven innocent. It also allows heirs to claim if the suspect dies before receiving payment. The law takes effect 120 days after publication.
